CHEER! is coming to your television set! This non-fiction book has been adapted into a fictional series called Hellcats, which will air on The CW Wednesdays at 9pm (EST), right after America's Next Top Model. Hellcats stars Aly Michalka (of Aly & AJ) and Ashley Tisdale (of High School Musical), and tells the story of Marti Berger, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who tries out for Lancer University's cheerleading squad when her scholarship is taken away. The Huffington Post, E! Online, TV Squad, and Entertainment Weekly all call Hellcats one of the most anticipated shows of the fall.

Hellcats is featured in the New York Times television section, in a meaty story about executive producer Tom Welling, who you may know as Clark Kent from Smallville. In it, Welling describes reading CHEER! and deciding to make the show. Read it here.

On May 9, Kate was featured in the television special E! True Hollywood Story Investigates Cheerleading, along with Ashley Picard, one of the cheerleaders whose life stories is told in CHEER!. Look for reruns—it's not available online.
